CariVu is a compact hand-held device (about the size of a\nstandard dental instrument) that fits over individual teeth and uses\nnear-infrared light to illuminate the tooth, making the enamel appear\ntransparent, for more precise detection and treatment of cavities and cracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“CariVu really gives us a more complete picture of\nwhat’s going on inside each tooth,” said Dr. Bygness. “And because it\ndoesn’t use radiation, it’s a great option for children, seniors, pregnant\nwomen, and patients who aren’t comfortable with x-rays.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
